In order to optimize efficiency and storage space within Maxfulfilment, we apply specific conditions for pre-announcement and management of stock. Below you will find a detailed explanation of our stock ceiling and how you can take this into account when delivering your products.

Stock ceiling and pre-notifications

What is an inventory ceiling?

The stock ceiling determines how many items you can store at Maxfulfilment. This ceiling is divided into different categories, such as regular assortment and specific assortment. The stock ceiling allows us to optimally use the storage space and ensure a healthy flow of stock.

Why an inventory ceiling?

The ceiling helps to:

• Effective use of storage space in the distribution center.
• Maintain healthy inventory levels.
• Prevent items from being stored for too long without being sold.

How is the inventory ceiling determined?

Each month your new stock ceiling is determined based on:

• Forecasted Sales : Historical data and growth forecasts.
• Current inventory health : Item turnover rate.
• Assortment Type : Different categories require different storage needs.
• Available storage space : The capacity of the distribution center.

Duration of the stock ceiling

The stock ceiling is valid for one month and is communicated on the first working day of the new month. During the month your expected stock ceiling can be adjusted weekly, but the final ceiling is only determined on the first working day of the following month.

Stock health

Your inventory health is measured by the turnover rate of items. A turnover rate of 28 days is considered healthy.

Pre-notification of shipments

When creating a new shipment you need to take into account your stock ceiling. The number of items you can pre-announce is calculated as:

Stock ceiling - Current stock - Pre-notified, not yet received items = Maximum pre-notified items

Important Guidelines for Pre-Notifications

• The number of items declared must match the number of items in the shipment.
• Items that are pre-announced but not delivered will be reserved for three working days. After that, they will be released.

Example:
If you pre-register 100 pieces but only deliver 90, the remaining 10 pieces will remain reserved for three working days before they become available again.

Inventory ceiling management

Increasing the stock ceiling

In case of an increase you can pre-announce more items. Make sure you only deliver stock that you expect to sell within 4 weeks.

Lowering the inventory ceiling

• If your stock is below the ceiling: You can supply additional items, but take your ceiling and current stock into account.
• If your inventory is above the ceiling: You can't supply new items. Stimulate sales by adjusting prices or improving product information. You can also consider recalling inventory.

Restrictions and Peak Rates

Restrictions on shipments

• A new shipment must be pre-notified at least two working days in advance.
• During periods of extreme pressure, deliveries may be temporarily restricted. These days are not available in the system.

Returns

During busy periods, such as the holidays, returns may take longer to process than the standard ten business days. Your return will be processed within a maximum of twenty business days.

Peak rates

A peak rate on stock applies in the months of October, November and December due to increased storage pressure.
